Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire is the sequel to Quest for Glory: So You Want To Be A Hero. This is the third installment in the series, following the original game (Quest for the Crown) and its expansion, Quest for the Grail, which took place after the conclusion of the original game. Both are available for PC. There are actually three variations of the game, so you don't need to start at the beginning if you want to play it like an expansion.
Each game is set up differently, as each version features a different set of quests. The quests range from simple ones to difficult ones, and can also be very different from one area to another. The basic objectives are the same, but they change in their order or difficulty. The quests are designed to make the hero reach the goal before the enemy does. If your hero is defeated, the quest is over and you have to start from the beginning and complete the quest.
The characters used in the games are very different than the ones you have encountered in other versions. There are three different types of character, each with their own abilities and strengths. The good guys are the Knights, the warriors, and the thieves. Each character has their own strength and skills and is often assigned to a specific class. Some examples are the Blacksmith, the Paladin, the Fighter, and the Sage. This is a great way to add new elements to the original Quest For Glory game, while adding a new twist on it.
